The Alicrity Massage

Our signature therapeutic session. Deep tissue, myofascial release, and craniosacral therapy in one tailored hour in NW Portland.

The Alacrity Massage is the session for people who have tried massage before and found that the relief does not last.

It combines deep tissue work, myofascial release, and craniosacral therapy, not as separate services on a menu, but as tools drawn together in a single session. The combination shifts on the day you arrive, based on what your body is showing us. The chronic tension that keeps coming back is almost always a pattern living deeper than the surface muscle. This session is designed to reach that pattern.

A session built with you, not delivered to you

Every session is a collaboration.

You know your body in ways no one else can. You have lived with it, noticed what it does under stress, and felt where the tension keeps returning. I bring 22 years of training and the ability to hear what your tissue is telling me, alongside what you are saying. The session is a conversation between your lived experience, my clinical expertise, and what is actually happening in the room on that day. Each of those holds equal weight.

We start where you came in. If your shoulder is what is actively bothering you, that is where we begin, so you know, I heard what is happening in your body right now. From there, we follow what we find together. Sometimes that leads us to your hips or your jaw, because the shoulder tension is rooted somewhere else. Sometimes we stay right at the source. It means I ease back on pressure when your nervous system needs to settle before deeper work is possible, and lean in when the tissue is ready for it.

What you feel and notice during the session matters as much to me as anything. You have expertise in your body. I have expertise in mine. We find the path together.

Three modalities, one session…

  • Deep Tissue Massage

Slow, sustained pressure into the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Targeted, specific work on the chronic tension patterns that cause recurring pain.

  • Myofascial release

Sustained, still pressure held long enough for connective tissue to soften and reorganize. Reaches restrictions that standard massage cannot. Often, the missing piece for pain that keeps returning.

  • Craniosacral therapy

Gentle, nervous-system work. Especially useful when the body needs to settle before deeper work is possible, or when tension is living in the jaw, head, or nervous system rather than the muscle itself.

Six steps to better results

  • Find Your Fit

Find the right therapist for your body. Not every practitioner is the right fit for every client. Look for someone whose approach, training, and pace match what your body actually needs.

  • Set An Intention

Set your intention before you arrive. What do you want to address? What would feel like a successful session? Even one clear goal sharpens the work.

  • Communicate Your Needs

Communicate your goals and preferences. You know your body. Tell me what you are noticing, where it hurts, what has helped or not helped before. The more you bring, the better we can build the session together.

  • Let Us Know

Speak up during the session if something is not working. Pressure, focus area, pace, all of it can shift in the moment. Your feedback while we work is one of the most useful things you can give me.

  • After Care

Drink water and slow down afterward. The work continues for hours after you leave the table. Hydration and a lighter rest of the day let your body integrate.

  • Take Care Of Yourself

Build self-care between sessions. Stretching, walking, breathwork, and sleep. The session is a part of your care, not all of it. What you do between visits is what makes the changes last.
